The Sussex Arts Collective was formed in 2006 by Phil Duncan. Following the principles of ‘Open Houses’, as used by many artists in Brighton Festival Fringe, the Collective offers an opportunities for local artists to present their work widely to the public. The objective of the Collective is to promote local artists who produce individual and unique art ranging from functional to purely aesthetic, and to provide art lovers and collectors an opportunity to purchase such items at a competitive price due to the considerably lower costs when sharing the overheads compared to selling through a shop. Works include original watercolour and oil paintings, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, glassware and garden sculptures.
